About Tracy Windley

My name is Tracy Windley and I am the owner of Sew Elegant Fine Window Designs, LLC. I never dreamed this would be my second career but I can think of nothing else I would rather do, except maybe fishing!

I grew up in Plymouth, a small paper mill town located in Eastern NC. When I wasn’t playing sports or fishing, you would find me crafting. I spent countless hours crocheting, cross stitching, and quilting. I attended East Carolina University and graduated with a BS in Medical Technology. I worked at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Hematology and Blood Bank and was a Hematology Instructor for Beaufort Community College.

In 1994, I had the opportunity to sew curtains for my Mother and thus begin an exciting new career! In 1997, I left my full time position in the medical field to pursue a new adventure in drapery and soft furnishings and have never looked back! I have attended the Custom Home Furnishings Academy, attended conferences, and enlisted in many online learning courses to increase my knowledge in order to offer my clients the very best. Today, along with continuing my education, I am fortunate to share my knowledge with others through teaching at industry conferences and webinar presentations.

My husband Jonathan and I have two wonderful sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and three spoiled dogs! We love to spend our spare time enjoying the outdoors fly fishing and hunting.

My “crafting” time is spent tying custom flies for Rainbow trout and Brown trout. I am currently working on a bucket list item by becoming a student of the cello.

I hope you will enjoy browsing through our Portfolio and will be inspired to let us begin a project on your home. Take a moment to visit our Camo & Pearls Blog to get to know me and my family; you may even get to visually ride along on some of our adventures!
